Frequently Asked Question

Why does my app show a watermark even though I have a licence?

Applies to: RadaeePDF Classic and Master SDK for Android, iOS and Windows

A watermark appears whenever licence validation fails or when running an unlicensed demo build. Check the following items in order:

  1. Verify key format compatibility: builds released after 2022-03-10 require a 96-character serial key. Legacy hyphenated keys (XXXXXX-XXXXXX-...) do not activate new-schema builds.
  2. Confirm the application identifier: the key is generated against an exact package name (Android) or bundle ID (iOS). Any mismatch disables activation.
  3. Check the "Last allowed update" date: a licence key validates only SDK binaries released on or before that date. If your maintenance period has lapsed and you update the SDK to a newer build, activation fails.
  4. Verify the licence tier: check the value returned by active(). A value of 0 denotes activation failure, 1 is Standard, 2 is Professional, and 3 is Premium. If a specific API call is restricted while the watermark is absent, the feature exceeds your purchased licence tier.

One common caveat: product flavours on Android configure different package names; a single key will not cover multiple flavours.
